Well the new year has arrived, and we’ve almost completed January 2017. I have promised myself that I would diligently work on this blog/website/hobby…. whatever this may turn out to be…
I am getting off to a late start, but better late than never. I have a couple of new recipes to share and some funny stories. Though with the stories I am trying to decide if they are shareable. Lol
I am glad the holidays are over, but very disappointed that I didn’t get pictures of the fabulous food I served at Christmas. (also, another promise to myself-take more pictures) At any rate, we survived the holidays and are now far enough into the year that we are receiving bills from said holidays. I have read recently that this time of year can be the most depressing due to the reason listed before as well as weather.
I have fallen into that dark place a time or two. However, it’s this time of year that I do the most reflecting. Trying to set goals for the year (website, fitness, summer trip; blah, blah, blah). Goals and plans are great, but lets face it, they don’t do much for our need for instant gratification. It is easy to feel that everything takes too long, or is too far off. And, there is no easy fix.
I have been trying the “just keep swimming” mantra. I am told this is from a children’s show and I really don’t know the context. But what this means for me is literally when you feel like your drowning, relax and just keep swimming.
So, happy or sad, in a good mood or bad-time passes and the next phase is just around the corner. This is my first post in a very long time. Hoping that I will get a rhythm down and just keep writing/cooking, 🙂
